South Lake Hospital in Clermont, FL Implements Online Pre-Registration for Patients
 
Customer Background
South Lake Hospital is a community hospital that has grown to be a cornerstone of the South Lake Community. The 180 acre health, wellness and education campus provides a complete continuum of quality care to the citizens of the South Lake community. With over 100 beds and more than 1,000 employees, South Lake Hospital offers a variety of medical services including diagnostic imaging, orthopedics and cardiac catheterization, among others.

South Lake Hospital is in partnership with Orlando Health.

The Centre for Women’s Health offers complete care for women from maternity to maturity. South Lake Hospital is also home to the National Training Center, which provides total body fitness, advanced rehabilitative services and athletic training.

Project Brief
The hospital needed to implement a solution which would stream line the patient registration process so that there was improved access to hospital services, saving staff and patient time, providing reliable online services to patients and enhancing the patient experience. In addition the client sought to have a system by which the pre-registration requests could be processed real time and report on pending pre-registrations. There were critical business rules that had to be built into the system too.

Visions@Work Solution
Visions@Work built a custom, patient centric online solution that served all business needs in a very quick timeframe. The solution allowed for a personalized, secure experience for the patients allowing them to pre-register for scheduled outpatient service appointments in a convenient manner. All information is kept secure and the solution ensures data authenticity and complete adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Patients can go online and electronically fill out forms prior to coming in for their appointment. Completion of the pre-registration forms online will reduce check-in time at the point of service and allows the hospital staff the opportunity to check eligibility of insurance information prior to patient visits.

Once submitted by the patient, patient business staff personnel will review the information, process the Pre-registration requests and mark them as completed. Additional reporting is available to system administrators. Other key features include User Management, Business rules management, System notifications and alerts.
